The simplest way to understand and remember for forever.
When two charges in air or vaccum presence themselves. The force acts between them is known as coulomb's law.
OR
Force between two point charges in air or vaccum is known as coulomb's law. "where point charge mean "the size of charge is very small as compared to the distance between those two point charges".
As these two statements tell us about coulomb's law. Now what coulomb's law do ?
Yes, it tells us about the force, how much force both the charges experiencing.How to calculate the force for that the scientist who discovered this law gave an formula to find the force.
The formula of coulomb's law mean formula for finding force between the two point charges is given below ЁЯСЗ .
F = k q¹q²/r²
Where "F" indicates coulomb's law force
"K" is a coulomb's constant whose value is 9 ×10⁹Nm²/C².
"q¹" is a value of charge 1
"q²" is a value of charge 2 which would be given in questions .
And the "r²" is the distance between those two point charges which can be found by applying distance formula .
Mean to find force between two point charges we need to remember coulomb's constant value .
Value of charge 1 and charge 2 will be given and we should know that how to calculate distance between two points mean distance formula is also plays an important role.
By the way in all the questions we can't apply distance formula .
Sometimes you will need Pythagoras theorem, also.
